Hey, isn't that the guy that never uploads or updates his page?! Why yes, thank you! Ha, honestly, I haven't updated this in... um... I have no idea by now, but it's 2022 finally, and I thought I would update this old channel! Breathe new life into it, you can say.
My username is Brockisnothere, but my name is Brock Aaron Fillipitch. The username was inspired by the old SNL Jeopardy segments, though I might change it in the future. Anyway, my last name means 'to the sky' in some language or another, though not exactly written how it is here, and my first name means 'badger-like'. Interesting, huh? Anyway, I upload art very sporadically, and would call myself more as a hobbyist artist than anyone professional. I work on comic strips and occasionally will post art or little poems here and there. I'm also big into journaling, and I'm a fan of a lot of video games, books, and spirituality.
Don't worry though, my interest in spiritual matters won't bleed into my comics, and I'll try to keep the channel as I have in the past, but hopefully upload more frequently and maybe even add some new 'ongoing series' outside of Stripes. I am currently working on a 'Pseudo Interactive Novel' called 'Folklore Fantasy'. I am also working on some MARDEK dialogue for a project on discord, which is some Flash Game a guy made years ago that we're porting to Unity. I assist in editing the dialogue section, though the story for the next chapter was done was done by someone else. Hopefully I can post that stuff here later! After all, it's been years.
Speaking of which, I need to clean up this channel, so I'm going to do that. I'll keep the work that was favorited as well as anything I still like. However, I'm probably going to be focusing more on 'full scale projects' then the 'occasional comic strip' that I usually do, and will do a lot less fanart and a lot more original projects. Most of my fanwork will probably be deleted, keep in mind, though I'll keep some of the stuff I don't find weird or cringe.
Furthermore, I plan to do more writing pieces, and will put them through 'draft pieces', so you can see each draft of my work be changed and developed, just like how I'm doing with my art! As far as any other things you might want to know, I plan to keep my username, though I will be changing my avatar at some point. I still think it's sorta okay, but it definitely needs something more symbolic then just the sideways glance of Stripes I have for most of those comics.
I do plan to reboot Stripes once again, and introduce the characters more 'naturally', as well as put together an ongoing story. DESPITE THIS, I STILL PLAN ON KEEPING THE COMICS AS THEY ARE. That is, a focus on humor, and trying to make each new comic looking more 'dynamic' then the last, as well as keeping in the same core cast, just with a few more personality traits. Some WILL be revamped, like Zoey and Dumb, who I find could use more to their personalities, and have interesting ideas on where to take most of the cast. As for my old stuff, I might continue some of it should I find it interesting, though they may not look the same, and I may 'refine' older comics to present or read better. Basically, I'm going to try to do a lot more here, like I was doing when I first joined this site long ago, though I'm not making any promises, because I rarely follow through well with things.
Keep in mind that if there's anything you want me to change, bring back, or do differently, just mention so! I really like hearing feedback, as it is an indispensable tool for any artist or author. ALSO, I'm going to be favoriting work from other artists! I originally use this username to say 'I'm only posting stuff here and nothing else', but that seems silly. I hope to build something that lasts longer than anything I've done before, and the community will be a big part of that!
Current Project: Stripes Remake, MARDEK Remake Concept Art, Folklore Fantasy Art
Future Plans: I'll probably post some polls and such as I figure out more about this site! Also, I will continue some of my old works, and start deleting art I'm not a fan of that was once here.
